The Boat
The minis are the smallest offshore sailing class in the world. With a length of only 6.5m these boats are tiny to cross an ocean, but their small size brings down the costs to a reachable level for ambituous up and coming shorthanded offshore sailors.

The mini class is divided into two categories:
the production boats and the prototypes.
Costs for a series boat campaign are more affordable due to the ban of materials like
carbon or kevlar.
There are some more restrictions like the keel must be fix and only draw 1.65m, waterballast isn’t allowed either for the series boats.
In my opinion the series boats allow to concentrate more on the sailing rather than on building or changing the boat to be fast.
